Ball-Goodwin-Morton
Oxidation by MnO2 of primary or secondary alpha,beta-unsaturated alcohols to alpha,beta-unsaturated aldehydes or ketones.
MnO2 must be obtained from a water solution of equivalent amounts of manganese(II) sulphate and potassium permanganate.
